History
Tolaram's beginnings were humble: it opened its shutters in 1948 as Toko Vaswani, a textile shop in Malang, Indonesia.

In 1965, we established our first overseas office in Singapore (which is now its Group Headquarters).

Our Chairman, Mohan Vaswani, has been at the helm of the Group since early 1960’s. His partnership with the Vice-Chairman, Vishamkar Adnani, laid the foundation for the rapid growth of the Group.

In 1973, the Group set up its first green field textile manufacturing plant in Indonesia.

In 1976, the Group ventured into the African market. Today it has emerged as a manufacturer and distributor of paper, instant noodles, chemicals and dyestuffs, floor coverings, fishing nets and textiles in the African continent.

In 1995, the Tolaram Group was the first Singaporean company to venture into Estonia when the iron curtain was lifted.

In the last 25 years, the Group has transformed itself into a large and diversified operation managed by high calibre professionals.

Ownership Structure
The Tolaram Group is co-owned by seven family related individuals.
